Marcela Szwarc is an interdisciplinary artist, graphic designer, and storyteller.
They were a 2018 Public Access Design Fellow at the Center For Urban Pedagogy, and a 2018 Resident Artist at Trestle Gallery in Industry City. Marcela recently received a Master’s in Fine Arts from Concordia University, with funding from the Concordia International Tuition Award for Excellence.
As an artist and designer they are constantly engaged in building their community, working to organize art exhibitions, performances, and workshops. They see visual design as one of many strategies for diminishing inequity, as well as uplifting voices on the margins. Marcela is especially dedicated to projects that inhabit the intersections of climate justice, women's rights, sexual health, education, arts and culture.
